Bernstein Type Theorems for Higher Codimensionj

We show a Bernstein theorem for minimal graphs of arbitrary dimension and codimension under a bound on the slope that improve previous results and is independent of the dimension and codimension. The proof depends on the regularity theory for the harmonic Gauss map and the geometry of Grassmann manifolds.

Black Hole Uniqueness Theorems

I review the black hole uniqueness theorem and the no hair theorems established for physical black hole stationary states by the early 80’. This review presents the original and decisive work of Carter, Robinson, Mazur and Bunting on the problem of no bifurcation and uniqueness of physical black holes. Its original version was written only few years after my proof of the Kerr-Newman et al. blac...

Uniqueness theorems for polyhedra.

In 1813, Cauchy2 gave the first proof of the theorem that two closed convex polyhedra in three-dimensional space are congruent if their faces are congruent in pairs and are joined to each other in the same order: in effect, the a priori possibility of rotations of the faces about the edges-which are obviously seen to be possible for some easily constructed open polyhedra-cannot occur for closed...

Pseudo-diagonals and Uniqueness Theorems

We examine a certain type of abelian C*-subalgebras that allow one to give a unified treatment of two uniqueness theorems: for graph C*algebras and for certain reduced crossed products. This note is meant to complement the paper [NR], which provides one of the two main examples of our results, by offering a conceptual treatment of the Uniqueness Theorem for the C*-algebras associated with graph...

Bernstein-type Theorems in Semi-riemannian Warped Products

This paper deals with complete hypersurfaces immersed in the (n + 1)-dimensional hyperbolic and steady state spaces. By applying a technique of S. T. Yau and imposing suitable conditions on both the r-th mean curvatures and on the norm of the gradient of the height function, we obtain Bernstein-type results in each of these ambient spaces.
